Bible Verse
“For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground…”
— Isaiah 44:3 (KJV)
Ellen G. White Quote
“He longs to have you expect great things from Him. He desires to give you understanding in temporal as well as in spiritual matters.”
— Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 146
Reflection
There are times in our walk with God when we feel empty, disconnected, or dry. The prayers don’t come easily, and the Word may feel distant. But in those very moments, God makes a promise: “I will pour water on the thirsty.”
Spiritual dryness doesn’t mean God has left. Often, it's a space where He’s preparing to pour into you in new ways. Sometimes He brings us to dry ground so we can see how deeply we thirst and how richly He can satisfy.
Ellen White reminds us that God longs for us to expect great things from Him, even when we feel nothing. He’s not finished with you. A fresh outpouring is coming.
Let This Be Your Prayer Today
Lord, I come to You dry and thirsty. Please pour Your Spirit into my life again. Renew my heart, revive my soul, and help me to expect great things from You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
