Bible Verse
“And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom...”
— Matthew 27:51 (KJV)
Ellen G. White Quote
“By His death, Jesus rent the veil of the temple, making a way of access to God for every sinner, without an earthly mediator.”
— The Desire of Ages, p. 756
Reflection
It didn’t happen in a crowd. There was no angel chorus, no sermon, no priestly announcement. Just a curtain tearing top to bottom.
That veil had hung for centuries, separating ordinary people from the Most Holy Place. Only priests could enter, and only once a year.
But when Jesus died, the barrier was ripped open. Not from bottom to top, as man would tear it but from *heaven downward. The message was loud in its silence: “You can come in now.”
No rituals. No gatekeepers. No barriers between God and the repentant heart. The veil is gone. And we can enter messy, broken, and deeply loved.
God tore the curtain so nothing could keep you from His presence. You are welcome fully, always.
Closing Prayer
Father, Thank You for removing what once stood between us. I come not because I am worthy, but because Jesus has made the way. Draw me near not as a stranger, but as Your child. Help me live daily in the reality that the veil is torn, and grace is open wide. Amen.
