When God’s Clock Ticks Differently

Bible Verse
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord."
— Isaiah 55:8 (ESV)

Ellen G. White Quote
"God’s plans and timing are beyond our human understanding, but His wisdom never fails." — Steps to Christ, p. 74

Reflection
We often expect God to move according to our schedules, our plans, and our sense of urgency.
We pray and then glance at the clock, hoping for instant answers, forgetting that the Creator of time is not bound by it.
God’s clock ticks to a different rhythm.
Sometimes His answers come quickly, almost before we finish asking.
Other times, they come slowly, after what feels like a long and silent season.
And sometimes, the waiting itself is the work the sacred space where He shapes our character, teaches us trust, and draws us closer to Him.
When we feel rushed or frustrated by the delay, it’s an opportunity to remember that His perspective is infinitely wider than ours.
He sees the whole picture the beginnings, the middles, and the ends all at once.
Nothing in His plan is out of place, even if it feels late to us.
The same God who set the stars in motion knows exactly when to move in your life.
Our peace comes from trusting His timing, even when it doesn’t match our own.
God’s timing may differ from ours, but it is always perfect, always intentional, and always full of purpose.

Prayer For This Day
Father, Teach me to slow down and trust Your perfect timing. Help me surrender my impatience and embrace Your wise plans. Give me peace in the waiting and joy in Your unfolding purposes. Amen.
