Bible Verse
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
— Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV)
Ellen G. White Quote
“In the future life the mysteries that here have annoyed and disappointed us will be made plain. We shall see that our seemingly unanswered prayers and disappointed hopes have been among our greatest blessings.”
— Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 5, p. 562
Reflection
Sometimes, despite our prayers, a door shuts. An opportunity fades, a relationship ends, or a plan crumbles. It’s in these moments we wonder, “Why did God allow this?”
Jeremiah 29:11 is God’s gentle reminder: His plans are always for our peace never harm even when they don't align with our expectations.
Ellen White encourages us with the long view. One day, we will look back and see that the disappointments were actually blessings in disguise. The closed doors were protection. The detours were preparation.
If something didn’t work out the way you hoped, remember: God’s “no” is never rejection it’s redirection.
