Bible Verse
“A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.”
— Proverbs 15:1 (KJV)

Ellen G. White Quote
“He who is kind and courteous to all, showing respect for others because they are bought with the blood of Christ is always respected and honored by the Lord.”
— Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 4, p. 348

Reflection
Words are powerful. They can heal or hurt, build up or break down. In a world quick to speak and slow to listen, Proverbs teaches us a simple truth: gentleness defuses tension.
We’ve all seen how a harsh response can escalate a situation. But imagine the witness we give when we respond with calm, grace-filled words even when provoked. It’s not weakness; it’s strength under control.
Ellen White reminds us that treating others with respect and kindness regardless of how they treat us is a reflection of Christ’s character. Even a short reply, spoken with love, can change the direction of someone’s day.

Let This Be Your Prayer Today
Lord, help me to guard my words today. May I speak with grace and gentleness, reflecting Your love in every conversation. Teach me to be quick to listen and slow to speak. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
