Bible Verse
“Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel.” — Jeremiah 18:6
Reflection
When Jeremiah was sent to the potter’s house, he saw the craftsman shaping clay on the wheel. Whenever the clay was marred, the potter did not discard it but patiently reshaped it into something new and beautiful. The clay had no voice, no resistance it simply yielded to the potter’s touch.
In the same way, our lives rest in the hands of God, the Master Potter. Sometimes He presses, stretches, or reshapes us in ways that feel uncomfortable. We often view our flaws or failures as the end of the story, but God sees them as opportunities to mold us into vessels of greater strength and purpose. Resistance only hardens and cracks us, but surrender allows His hands to shape us into something useful.
This truth is deeply comforting: God never throws away His clay. The rough edges of our character, the detours we don’t understand, and the prayers that seem unanswered may all be part of His refining process. Through it all, His hands remain steady and His purpose sure.
So, when life feels like it’s spinning out of control, remember you are not abandoned. The Potter is still at work, patiently shaping you into a vessel that reflects His beauty and carries His light into the world. Trust His hands, even when you can’t see the final design.
Prayer
Heavenly Potter, I place my life into Your hands today. Shape me, mold me, and even remake me if needed. May I be a vessel that reflects Your purpose and brings honor to You. Amen.
