The Ministry of Quiet Things
Posted on July 20, 2025 | Southern Asian Adventist Community Church Devotionals
Bible Verse
“Study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands...”
— 1 Thessalonians 4:11 (KJV)
Ellen G. White Quote
“The greatest victories to the church of Christ... are those that are not gained by talent or learning, but by humble and persevering faith.”
— Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 4, p. 87
Reflection
We often think God’s work must look loud preaching, performing, public things. But heaven values the quiet too: the folded laundry, the listening ear, the whispered prayer, the small faithfulness that no one sees but God.
Jesus spent most of His earthly life in obscurity no platform, no spotlight. Just wood, nails, and sweat in a carpenter’s shop. And yet, those hidden years were not wasted. They were part of His ministry.
Don’t overlook the sacred in the simple. The ministry of quiet things is still holy. Still noticed. Still needed.
Because sometimes, the truest reflection of Christ is not in what we say but in how we show up, gently, faithfully, and quietly.
Let This Be Your Prayer Today
“Lord, remind me that no act of love is too small for Your Kingdom. Teach me to treasure the quiet places where You work through me.” Amen.
