Bible Verse
“He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.”
— Micah 7:19 (KJV)
Ellen G. White Quote
“It is Satan’s special device to lead souls to think that God delights in punishing them. He delights in mercy.”
— Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 205
Reflection
Sometimes we may feel weighed down by guilt or believe that God is distant when we fall. But the Bible tells us that God delights in mercy. His heart is not eager to punish, but to forgive, restore, and lift us up.
Ellen White strongly warns us against the false idea that God finds pleasure in our suffering. This is Satan’s deception. God’s joy is in showing compassion and in drawing His children close.
When we come to God with sincere hearts, He not only forgives He casts our sins away completely, never to hold them against us again. His mercy is vast, deep, and freely given.
Let This Be Your Prayer Today
“Lord, thank You for delighting in mercy. Help me to trust in Your compassion and to accept Your forgiveness fully. Teach me to reflect Your mercy in my life toward others.”
Amen.
