Bible Verse
“And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord...”
— 1 Kings 17:16 (KJV)
Ellen G. White Quote
“God’s gifts increase as we impart them. The little that is wisely used in the service of the Lord will increase in the very act of dispensing.”
— Prophets and Kings, p. 131
Reflection
The widow at Zarephath had one handful of flour and a little oil. Enough for a last meal. But when she gave it to Elijah at God’s command, something miraculous happened: it didn’t run out.
There was no sudden overflow. No extra jars. Just a quiet, daily faithfulness. She reached into the jar each morning, and it was still enough.
That’s how God often works. He doesn’t always fill the pantry but He sustains the jar. Enough grace for today. And again tomorrow.
If you’re living on “just enough,” feeling like your reserves spiritually, emotionally, financially are low, remember this: God can sustain what feels too small when it’s offered back to Him in trust.
God may not always give abundance but He will always give enough.
Closing Prayer
Lord, Sometimes my strength feels like a nearly empty jar. But I place it in Your hands. Teach me to trust You with the small things. Fill me with daily grace, and help me believe You will never let the jar run dry when I walk in obedience. Amen.
