the Grateful heart

Posted on November 10, 2025 | Southern Asia Adventist Community Church Devotionals

Bible Verse:
“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Ellen G. White Quote:
“Nothing tends more to promote health of body and of soul than does a spirit of gratitude and praise.” — Ministry of Healing, p. 251

Reflection:
Gratitude transforms how we experience life. When we learn to thank God not only for blessings but also within trials, something shifts inside us, a quiet strength takes root. Complaints shrink, hope grows, and joy finds new ground to thrive. A thankful heart sees God’s hand even in small mercies: a sunrise, a kind word, a moment of rest.

A grateful heart turns ordinary days into sacred ones. It reminds us that God’s goodness is not limited to moments of success or happiness, it flows steadily, even when life feels uncertain. Each breath, each answered prayer, and even each waiting season becomes a reason to praise. Gratitude lifts our eyes from what we lack to the One who provides all things.

When we choose gratitude, peace follows. It protects us from discouragement and draws us closer to God’s presence. In gratitude, our hearts find healing; in praise, our burdens grow lighter. So today, pause and give thanks not because everything is perfect, but because God’s love remains constant and His promises never fail.

Prayer:
Loving Father, thank You for Your endless goodness and mercy. Teach me to live each day with a heart full of gratitude. When I face challenges, help me to see Your hand at work and to trust that You are shaping all things for my good. Fill me with joy that springs from a thankful spirit, and may my life be a continual song of praise to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
