The God Who Walks in the Garden

Bible Verse
“And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day...”
— Genesis 3:8 (KJV)

Ellen G. White Quote
“It was not the will of God that the sinless pair should know aught of evil… But God still sought them, calling, ‘Where art thou?’”
— Patriarchs and Prophets, p. 57

Reflection
Before the fall, God walked with Adam and Eve not from a throne, but through a garden. That detail is tender: He chose to be near. And even after sin, He came looking for them, not to destroy, but to call out: “Where are you?”
That question echoes still. Not in judgment, but in love. God walks into the mess we’ve made and still desires communion. He’s not far off. Even when we hide, He searches for us with compassion.
What if today, instead of doing more for God, we simply walked with Him? Slowed down. Noticed His nearness. Heard His steps in our day?

Let This Be Your Prayer Today
“Lord, I hear You walking in my day. In the quiet, in the ordinary. May I not hide, but walk with You again with honesty, humility, and hope.”
Amen.
