Bible Verse
“In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.”
— Isaiah 30:15 (KJV)
Ellen G. White Quote
“The soul that is yielded to Christ becomes His own fortress, which He holds in a revolted world, and He intends that no authority shall be known in it but His own.”
— Desire of Ages, p. 324
Reflection
The world tells us to hustle harder, do more, and keep pushing. But God invites us to find strength not in striving but in stillness. Isaiah 30:15 reminds us that spiritual power is found in quietness and confidence.
Stillness doesn't mean inaction it means trust. It’s the deep calm of knowing that God is in control, even when everything around you feels chaotic.
Ellen White describes the surrendered soul as a fortress that is secure, unshaken, completely under Christ’s control. That kind of peace isn’t found in outward success, but in inner surrender.
When we slow down, pause, and let go, we discover a deeper strength than we could ever manufacture on our own.
Let This Be Your Prayer Today
Lord, quiet my anxious heart. Teach me to rest in You, to stop striving and simply trust. Be my strength and my peace today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
