Bible Verse:
“Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him.” — Psalm 37:7
Ellen G. White Quote:
“God never leads His children otherwise than they would choose to be led, if they could see the end from the beginning.” — The Desire of Ages, p. 224
Reflection:
Silence from God is one of the hardest experiences in the Christian journey. We pray, but no answer seems to come. We seek direction, but the path feels hidden. Yet silence is not abandonment it is often preparation.
Think of a seed planted in the soil. For days or even weeks, nothing appears on the surface. It might seem as though nothing is happening. But beneath the ground, roots are spreading, structures are forming, and life is quietly taking shape. In the same way, God uses seasons of silence to build unseen strength in us roots of faith that will hold firm when storms come.
Moses spent 40 years in the wilderness before God called him to lead Israel. Joseph endured years in prison before God raised him to the palace. Even Jesus lived in obscurity for 30 years before beginning His public ministry. In each case, God was silently preparing, shaping, and positioning His children for a greater purpose.
Silence is not wasted time. It is God’s workshop, where faith is stretched, patience is trained, and trust is deepened. When you don’t hear His voice, remember: the Teacher is often quiet during the test but He is still present in the room.
One day, what feels like silence now will be seen as preparation. God is not ignoring you He is building you.
Prayer For This Day
Lord, help me to rest in Your silence. Teach me to trust that what I cannot see today will one day become a testimony of Your faithfulness. Amen.
